In a remarkable stride towards its Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has unveiled plans for the Global Sports Tower in Riyadh, set to be the tallest sports tower in the world. This groundbreaking project is part of the larger Sports Boulevard initiative, designed to promote a healthier lifestyle and boost the country's global standing.

  • An Architectural Marvel

The Global Sports Tower will stand at an impressive height of 130 metres, encompassing an area of 84,000 square metres. This architectural marvel will host over 30 sports facilities, including the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall at 98 metres and a high-tech digitised running track at 250 metres. The tower’s design incorporates Salmani architecture, blending traditional aesthetics with modern innovation, ensuring it stands as a significant landmark on Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Road.

  • Technological and Sustainable Innovations

The tower aims to offer a futuristic sports experience. The indoor climbing wall will be equipped with advanced safety features and state-of-the-art climbing gear, while the digital running track will provide athletes with real-time performance data to enhance their training routines. Emphasising sustainability, the construction will utilise eco-friendly materials and practices, setting a new standard for green buildings in the region.

  • Community and Economic Impact

Beyond its sports facilities, the Global Sports Tower is envisioned as a community hub and a catalyst for economic growth. By attracting tourists and sports enthusiasts worldwide, it is expected to stimulate the local economy, benefiting sectors, such as hospitality, retail, and transportation. This aligns perfectly with Vision 2030’s goals of improving residents’ quality of life and fostering a vibrant sports culture.

  • Part of the Sports Boulevard Project

The tower is a key feature of the ambitious Sports Boulevard project, which spans 135 kilometres, connecting Wadi Hanifah and Wadi Al Sulai through a network of pedestrian, cycling, and equestrian paths. This initiative, launched by King Salman bin Abdulaziz in 2019, includes over 4.4 million square metres of green space and 50 multidisciplinary sports facilities, highlighting Saudi Arabia's commitment to sustainability and active lifestyles.

  • A Vision for the Future

The approval of the Global Sports Tower marks a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, demonstrating the Kingdom's dedication to diversifying its economy and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. As construction progresses, Riyadh is set to emerge as a global sports and recreational hub, showcasing the transformative potential of strategic urban development.
